Course Description

Ever wonder what it’s like to be a student with a disability? This perspective-taking session gives a glimpse of the challenges students with learning disabilities, processing difficulties, dyslexia, Autism, and other disabilities face on a daily basis. This presentation will delve into Richard Lavoie’s F.A.T. (Frustration, Anxiety, and Tension) City, tell a story about Carly Fleishman, a non-verbal girl with Autism, and simulate various experiences with having a disability. All those that have a desire to know more about the students with disabilities they work with are welcome to attend! This session will be Spanish-friendly and translated in Spanish for any attendees needing that accommodation.
