Course Description

These facilitated planning days are designed to support K–5 educator teams in collaboratively designing high-quality, integrated literacy and social studies units using a backwards planning process anchored in district common assessments. With support from facilitators, teams will analyze common assessment expectations and student work, clarify priority standards and outcomes, and design instruction that intentionally builds the knowledge, reading, writing, and thinking skills students need to be successful on those assessments. The focus will be on strengthening alignment, coherence, and instructional clarity while ensuring units integrate literacy and social studies in meaningful, standards-aligned ways.
