Course Description

Teachers in this course will have an opportunity to learn what Newsela is and how to best use articles written at 5 different reading levels with their elementary students. This course is applicable for any elementary teacher (though, mostly Gr. 2-6) who wants to learn how they might use Newsela in any of their instruction, whether it is Social Studies, Science, ELA, SEL, or more!

Audience

"Any 2nd through 5th-grade teacher wanting to learn more about how Newsela works.  Kindergarten and First-grade teachers are welcome to attend, but likely use Newsela in their classrooms significantly less.   Secondary teachers hoping to attend may be put on a waitlist.  Priority enrollment will be given to 2-6 teachers, but secondary could be enrolled with the understanding that examples will be aimed at 2-6.  Email jacobvandemoortel@u-46.org with questions."
