In this interactive professional learning session, 3-6 educators will explore how purposeful, curriculum-based questioning can spark curiosity, deepen understanding, and promote meaningful student discourse. Participants will learn strategies for designing open-ended questions that align with core content and academic vocabulary, encouraging young learners to explain their thinking, make connections to new learning, and engage in productive dialogue. Through modeling, collaboration, and practice, teachers will develop tools to intentionally elevate the level of student evidence using Marzano’s taxonomy—guiding learners from retrieval and comprehension toward analysis, and knowledge utilization. Educators will leave with practical question stems and approaches to enhance classroom conversations, strengthen conceptual understanding, and foster a culture of inquiry.
