T&L: Introduction to Canvas for Elementary (Asynchronous)

This course is designed to provide teachers with an overview of the Canvas Elementary Dashboard. The Elementary Dashboard offers a simplified experience for both teachers and younger students by using a more intuitive, user-friendly interface. Key features of the Canvas for Elementary platform include: Announcements on the main dashboard: Teachers can post important updates directly on the dashboard for students to easily access. Icon-based system: The dashboard employs icons instead of extensive text, making navigation more accessible for younger learners. Simplified subject navigation: Students can more easily navigate through different subjects within the course. “Friendly Name” option for courses: Instructors can create and display a student-friendly course name, enhancing the learning experience. This course will equip teachers with the skills to effectively utilize these features, making the learning environment more engaging and manageable for elementary students.

This is an asynchronous course that you will work through at your own pace and will likely return to as a resource as you continue to use Canvas this year.

Evaluation and Attendance Information

Evaluation forms for this course will be available for 24 hours after the course has ended.  All evaluation forms must be completed by that time.  Attendance will be taken via sign-in sheet and once the attendance information has been entered into the course, your PD hour form will be available.
