Course Description

Welcome to the Specialized Student Services Alternate ACCESS Training! This asynchronous session is designed for special education teachers working with MLP, ILP, and EN students with intellectual disabilities who may qualify for Alternate ACCESS. The course covers the essential steps for administering Alternate ACCESS, which is specified in a student’s IEP based on significant intellectual disability. Teachers are expected to verify they have an active WIDA account before starting. During the session, participants will engage with a pre-recorded overview of the testing process, learn to navigate testing domains within their WIDA account, and review relevant materials in the assignments section. At the end, teachers will complete the WIDA certification test for Alternate ACCESS administration.
