Course Description

Mentors will be given the opportunity to engage in a one hour, synchronous, Mentor Professional Development session that is desiged around research based strategies for leadership, communiction skills, and resilience.  District resources and supplemental resources will be used as a foundation include:  Danielson Framework for Teaching, Better Conversations by Jim Knight, and Onward by Elena Aguilar.  Mentors will engage in personal reflection and goal setting activities to increase self-care awareness and habits to support their own growth as well as their mentee's growth.  Enrolling in this course will give you access to the Zoom meeting links for all of this year's quarterly meetings.

6:30 - 7:30 AM

2:45 - 3:45 PM

4 - 5 PM

Registration in the course will allow you to attend any of the sessions.  Please use the links inside of the course to add the meeting to your Google calendar.

Course Format Information

This course will take place on Zoom.  Please log in with your U-46 laptop. 

Evaluation and Attendance Information

Evaluation forms for this course will be available for 24 hours after the course has ended.  All evaluation forms must be completed by that time.  Attendance will be taken via sign-in sheet and once the attendance information has been entered into the course, your PD hour form will be available. 

PD Hour Information

As a mentor, you will receive a stipend for your work with your mentee.  Since you are receiving a stipend and not hourly pay, you will be able to submit these PD hours for Professional Credit. You will also be able to submit the PD hours for ISBE Licensure Renewal.  Please contact either profressionalcredit@u-46.org or professionaldevelopment@u-46.org with any questions.
